The Farmhouse is just a few kilometres from Gordes, one of the most beautiful villages in Luberon. The property has four bedrooms with high-quality bedding and four bathrooms with all the necessary comforts. A field of poppies, a well-dimensioned swimming pool and private secluded terraces offering a remarkable view will enchant you for a rural holiday. Located at an altitude of 500m, the cooler temperatures guarantee pleasant nights. Ideal for total escapism, peace and quiet.

Built on the foothills of the Monts of Vaucluse, facing the Luberon, Gordes is one of the most well-known hilltop villages in the region, and officially one of the most beautiful in France. Its houses and buildings of white stone root themselves into the sharp cliff of the mountain and its labyrinth of “calades” (narrow cobblestone streets) does not leave the visitor indifferent to its charms.

Many artists have stayed in the village of Gordes and have contributed to its fame including André Lhote, Marc Chagall, Victor Vasarely and Pol Mara. Gordes is the seat of many cultural events in the summer with its museums, a festival, concerts and numerous exhibitions. The village is dominated by its church and castle, ancient symbols of the fight against invading armies. Even in World War 2, Gordes suffered terribly, much of the village was destroyed and the populace massacred. The whole village was awarded the Croix de Guerre medal.

It’s not just the stunning view of Gordes as you approach – Gordes is also a pleasure to explore from within with its tight alleyways and arcades. There are many restaurants and cafes, from simple to refined; bakery and food stores; and a thriving arts scene. The view from Gordes is also spectacular, high over the Luberon plain.
